The GHRKit uses Space Age Epoxy to bond the repair kit to the prepared gimbal housing surface. The demonstration below illustrates the bonding strength using a much smaller bonded area than a complete GHRKit installation.
These photos demonstrate the Space Age Epoxy used to bond the GHRKit to the prepared gimbal housing repair surface.
In the photo at right, the epoxy bonds a round test object to a flat metal surface.
The photo to the left shows the test from above.
Only about 1 inch of epoxy-bonded area was used in this demonstration.
By comparison, a complete GHRKit installation provides approximately 14 inches of bonding surface area.
The object supported in this demonstration weighs approximately 35 lb.
